Listening to Music Through New Ears

Riding in the car with the family when Montell Jordan’s “This Is How We Do It” comes on and my oldest says, “Why does this sound like Slick Rick?” When the rapped verse comes on my oldest shouts, “he even sounds like Slick Rick.” For the first time in more than 25 years listening to this song, I heard it for the first time.
